Accumulation of Crystals: If the battery remains in a discharged state for prolonged periods, lead sulfate crystals become large and difficult to convert back, leading to sulfation.
Reduced Active Material: Sulfation restricts the availability of active material on the plates, diminishing the battery’s capacity and performance.
